Happy Easter, Happy Spring!

Hello! We’re spending Easter weekend in CT with Mr. BOP’s family. The sun was beaming today and my camera was at the ready. Here’s to Spring!

We colored eggs with cousins, Hadley and Liam…

‘Til an Easter bunny was spotted through the window. The cousins ran outside to chase him!

Which was followed by jumping rope {Ella with Cousin Hadley}…

And then, a stroll around the yard:

Wishing you a lovely Easter weekend, filled with family, fun, and signs of Spring!

Early Bird Special

We’re returning home from vacation on Easter Eve this year — a departure from our traditional trip to my Mother in Law’s in CT.  She always takes care of the details; dying eggs, the easter egg hunt, the cooking.  But we were inspired last weekend when our neighbor, Tina, left a bag of the most beautiful eggs on our porch, fresh from her hens.  Look how beautiful!  Hudson and Ella were fascinated by the variety of sizes and colors that you just don’t usually see in our refrigerator.  We decided that the eggs were too special to simply scramble — so we launched into full-on Easter egg mode.

Many – myself included – would say that to dye these stunning eggs would be unfortunate.  Nonetheless, the kids were determined and here is the happy and festive outcome.  We decided to poke holes in both ends and blow out the eggs so they would be ready and waiting when we return from our trip.  Although I am delighted to have them preserved now for all eternity, the process requires a strong set of lungs — but worth the effort!
